Bradford Deanery

Bradford Deanery has been linked with Kadugli Diocese in Sudan for many years, and has helped them in the purchase of mills to grind grain and in building of Peace Primary School in Kadugli city. In 2019 a team from the deanery even visited Kadugli. Then in 2023, civil war broke out again in Sudan, in a form far more vicious than previously experienced. Many fled their homes, either to go abroad or simply to find somewhere safe. Famine and disease followed.

The deanery naturally prayed for their suffering brothers and sisters, but they also began to send money regularly for the relief of hunger.

John Joy, Bradford Deanery Lay Chair said this "Recently Archbishop Ezekiel of Sudan and Bishop Hassan visited the UK, in part to meet with our MPs and members of the House of Lords, and they also visited Bradford Deanery.  Their visit encouraged us through their evident valuing of our fellowship and their prayers for us, but also for the news that amid all the persecution and suffering the church in Kadugli Diocese was growing!  In fact, with our support, they are Making Jesus Known.

We have cast our seeds widely, and they are bearing fruit."
